An antique Victorian c1880 gilt metal charm of a dog, beautifully modelled and with a large oversized jump ring presumably for hanging on a velvet ribbon or cord. A lovely quality piece with nice detailing. In the language of jewellery this model of dog often represents “faithfulness”.
It measures 17mm (11/16ths of an inch) by 10mm (3/8ths of an inch) by 5mm (3/16ths of an inch) and weighs 3.1 grammes. I had hoped this was silver gilt but it tests as non precious metal. There is very light wear to the gilding but overall it is in super condition.
