Antique WWI c1914 Silver & Wood "Touch Wood" Lucky Figure Charm

An antique WWI silver lucky “Touch Wood” charm of a wooden body with silver arms & legs and facial detailing. 

It measures, excluding the suspension bale, 19mm (6/8ths of an inch) by 18mm (6/8ths of an inch) and weighs 1.6 grammes. The back of the legs is marked “925” for sterling silver. The wooden head has facial features and the back has the remnants of “Touch Wud” which is very worn. There are some cracks in the wooden bead and a tiny hole (please see pics). The silver is slightly tarnished but otherwise all in good condition.
