A large vintage 1940's English 9ct yellow gold heart locket charm that opens to reveal space inside for photographs or hair.
It measures 21mm (13/16ths of an inch) by 19mm (6/8ths of an inch), excluding the suspension bale, and weighs 2.9 grammes. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1948 with a secure closure. There is space inside for two photographs or locks of hair but both rims and glass are missing. There is one slight dent to the front (see pic) but otherwise it is in very good condition.
