Antique Edwardian Puffed Silver Charm of an Unknown Character
An antique Edwardian silver puffed (hollow) charm of an unknown character. He is wearing a crown, glasses and appears to be wrapped in a cloak that is decorated with circles. I have had a few of these charms over the years but have never found out who he is.
It measures 22mm (7/8ths of an inch) by 14mm (9/16ths of an inch) and weighs 1.3 grammes. Marked STERLING SILVER. There is part of a registered design number on the base which I know is 556352 from previous models of this charm. This dates the piece to around 1909. The charm is ever so slightly squashed flat, most visible on the base, and there is a small area of scratching to the back. Otherwise it is in very good condition just slightly tarnished.
