1940's WWII Brass & Plastic 'OI' Winston Churchill Charm & Brooch
A vintage 1940's WWII brass and plastic charm of a man gesturing with his hand and 'OI' on the back of his head, supposedly Winston Churchill gesturing to the troops 'Oi get into line', still hung on the original brooch fitting, an unusual piece. The design harks back to the WWI fumsup and touch wood charms that were so popular with the troops at the time.
The charm measures 27mm (1 inch 1/16th) by 15mm (5/8ths of an inch) and the brooch fitting is 21mm (13/16ths of an inch) in diameter. The charm is marked with a registration number 831991 which dates to 1939. The plastic head should be painted gold but most of it has worn off, otherwise, it is in very good condition.
